In the early 1970s, reports of a large, foul-smelling, three-toed creature near Fouke, Arkansas sent the town into a genuine panic — and eventually inspired The Legend of Boggy Creek, a low-budget film that became a drive-in classic. Decades later, the Fouke Monster remains one of the South's most locally beloved cryptids.
